Philip Zastrow
Web Designer

Who is Philip Zastrow?
I’m an Ohio boy who wandered into Northern Indiana with my wife one cold day. I come from an amazing family back home in Miamisburg, Ohio. I’ve been pushing pixels since I was 10 and making websites since high school.
Until coming to Notre Dame, my career was largely focused in the Dayton, Ohio area. While in college I worked for MeadWestvaco creating physical mock-ups of products, including the Five-Star brand of notebooks and folders. A couple of years after college I started working for Dayton Christian School System as a web designer. I’ve also worked for a few small companies in Dayton designing for everything print and web related.
What do you do at AgencyND?
I make the websites pretty. I push pixels in Photoshop and craft some fun CSS to make Notre Dame websites look great. As of April 2012, I’ve done most of the more recent designs including the new nd.edu design.
What do you do in your down time?
At this point, working on my 90 year old house and relaxing with my gorgeous wife, Robin. I try to sneak some time to read and write when I can.
What did you dream you would do when you were a kid?
I knew I wanted to get into web design pretty early on in high school. But before then it was probably a toss up between creating movie special effects or making new Lego models. Both of which, I’d probably still be up for doing someday.
How did it come about that you work at Notre Dame?
That’s one of the great mysteries of my life. I applied to AgencyND for the web designer position, they liked my work and hired me, then moved me and my wife up here from Southern Ohio.
